Saturday Night at the Movies 1/4/14!

Who cares what picture we see?

My wife certainly does - and I was thrilled to find this movie under the Christmas tree...

The original flick - which inspired Quentin Tarantino to make his excellent spaghetti western pastiche Django Unchained - is a fine example of that well populated genre. Nero is a cool character, and he's well supported by a fine cast of dubbed Europeans.

The movie is on a Blu-Ray disc - I'm hoping the transfer is extraordinary - if you want to come over we could be taking a look at it anytime - even tonight!

Until next post, you Can Poke Me With A Fork, Cause I Am Outta Here!

  1. You know, of course, that the following year (1967), Franco Nero appeared as Lancelot in the big Hollywood screen version of Lerner and Loew's Camelot, opposite Vanessa Redgrave. Sparks flew (but it didn't help the movie much).

    1. True - and Nero returned to his native Italy to continue starring in movie after movie - and Vanessa met up with Timothy Dalton not too long after...
